Cardinal Health reported a bump in revenue in its third quarter, driven by gains in the company's pharmaceutical segment. The Dublin, Ohio-based drug and medical products distributor reported $386 million in earnings during the last quarter, up 6% from last year.
Dr. Andrew Bindman has been named director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, effective May 2. Sharon Arnold has served as acting director since March, when Richard Kronick stepped down. Kronick had led AHRQ, a division of HHS, since August 2013.
The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company is attempting to reorganize as sales of personal computers shrink. Intel officials said the company will make investments in products and technologies, such as the cloud, that will foster revenue growth, and drive more profitable mobile and personal computer businesses.
The university said it's the biggest gift in the school's history and it will fund the construction of a 270,000 square-foot, six-story neurosciences building at Mission Bay. The donation also will help support a scholars program that allows neuroscience graduate students to purse high-risk research, the university said.
